Chesed Week is Back at 天美传媒视频!

Each year, in honor of Parashat Vayera, 天美传媒视频 students are reminded that, like Avraham and Sarah, they too can make the world a better place through acts of chesed. This week, the Chesed Tent, yes, a real tent set up right in the middle of the 天美传媒视频 Atrium, welcomed students to perform acts of kindness and generosity, reaching out to support both our local community and Israel. Across all grades, students took part in meaningful projects and learned about inspiring chesed organizations.

This year鈥檚 projects were as creative as they were impactful. 2N students made B鈥檛ayavon cards for Pantry Packers, while 3N students decorated Tzedakah boxes to collect money for Riverdale Hatzalah. 4N students created festive Chanukah cards for soldiers through Smiles for the Kids. Kindergarten students decorated Chanukah Cozy Cups filled with hot cocoa, oatmeal, and candies, which will be delivered to Bronx seniors by the Riverdale Y. First-grade students assembled 鈥淪habbat Bags鈥 with grape juice, candles, challah, and treats for families through the KCI Kosher Food Pantry, and second-grade students packed socks with treats for soldiers overseas through the Major Stuart Adam Wolfer Institute (MSAWI).

Third-grade students decorated t-shirts for “Build-a-Bear” bears for the Ellie Ruby Foundation, bringing smiles to families battling pediatric cancer. Fourth-grade students assembled Shabbos boxes for hospital patients through Chesed247. Fifth- and sixth-grade students, in partnership with Otiot Shel Ahava, wrote letters in a Torah scroll that will be donated to a kibbutz in Otef Aza. Seventh-grade students created pink flower bouquets, purchased by families and faculty to raise funds for Sharsheret, supporting young Jewish women and their families facing breast cancer. Eighth-grade students packed boots for IDF soldiers in partnership with Boots for Israel and also prepared Chulent bags, with proceeds benefiting Tomchei Shabbos of Queens.

Chesed Week inspires students to give back, learn about meaningful causes, and make a tangible difference in our community.

Thank you to the amazing parent volunteers who worked alongside our students, as well as to our Chesed Week sponsors, whose support helped make this beautiful week of mitzvot possible.
